Gap Year: Sacred Spaces in India
(Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Bihar; India)

  • Pilgrimaged across the subcontinent to challenge and develop own perspective and understanding, specifically in art and religion.

  • Studied under experts in their fields, focusing on inter-religion relations and education, particularly at the Ecumenical Christian Centre and at the Root Institute

  • Learned from Hindus, Sikhs, Mar Thomas Christians, and Mahayana Buddhists

Oxford University (Oxford, UK)

  • Part of an intensive and rigorous program starting at Lincoln College in Oxford University, then proceeding all around mainland Europe

  • Studied religion, history, literature, art, and art history

  • Visited Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg, and Belgium

  • Studied in parts of the region Saarland and in Berlin for completion of final semester of liberal arts course focusing on influential writing and thought

Summer Exchange Program

(Strasbourg, France)

  • An elective course existing outside of the normal AP European History course during the school year, which culminated in a summer study to Europe

  • Involved vigorous daily exercise and readings, along with a final research paper 

  • Travelled to England, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland

  • As an exchange student to France lived with family of fellow exchange student in little village outside of Strasbourg

  • Daily visits to various sites for education about the culture and history of the region

  • Immersed in the environment so as to develop one’s fluency and perspective
